Exploring the space between observation and imagination, I seek familiar subjects to transform into something more dreamlike and emotionally charged. Form gives way to atmosphere and that observation becomes sensation through expressive color, layered surfaces, and references to art-historical imagery.
A little about me
Born and raised in New York, I studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology before earning a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design.
Painting is my way of observing the world more closely and responding to it. My background in fashion, illustration, and art direction continues to shape my approach, informing my use of color, composition, and expressive form.
The Sketchbooks include a selection of figure drawings I make during various studio sessions around NYC and images from trips around the globe.
